Dental College & Hospital was established in 1989 in response to the growing demand for education in Dentistry in this region. It is a pioneering institute in this part of the country in the field of Dentistry education. The College is housed in a new building of 1,60,000 sq.ft. The building is not only the architectural beauty but it is functionally well planned.

The College has very progressive and pragmatic environment developed by highly qualified and experienced teaching staff using most modern and innovative teaching aids and methodology. It emphasises real-life experience-based teaching. Its rich library is equipped with internet facilities for the use of its students and faculty. It also subscribes to several national and international journals. The Library has also interconnectivity with leading libraries like British Council library and other Medical Institutions.

Such an environment is well-supported by state of the art modern equipment (both imported and indigenous) and materials and patient-simulation systems in all branches of dentistry including Prosthodontics, Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics, Periodontology, Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry. The department of Oral and Maxillo-facial Surgery is equipped with full-fledged surgical and after-care facilities. All these departments are ably supported by excellent diagnostic and investigative facilities in the departments of Oral Medicine and Diagnosis, Oral Radiology, Oral Pathology and Microbiology. Community programmes that are organised by the department of Community Dentistry round the year not only provide training to the students in the dental health education aspects but also generate a variety of clinical material. A rich 'hands-on' clinical experience to prepare the students for future independent practice is thus ensured.

About UsThe Dental Council of India, which is the monitoring statutory apex body, has granted recognition to our B.D.S. course as early as in 1994. In fact, our Dental College was the first private Dental College in Maharashtra to get such recognition. The college is also offering post-graduate (M.D.S.) programme in six disciplines i.e. Prosthodontics, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Conservative Dentistry, Oral Pathology and Microbiology and Periodontology.

The Dental Council of India approved the college and its degrees (B.D.S. and M.D.S.). The Dental Hospital attracts a large number of patients and hence ample clinical material is made available to the students. Its annual intake is 100 students and a few seats are reserved for NRI/foreign students.

Research is an integral part of the postgraduate institution. Research activities are carried out in various branches of Dentistry. The college has undertaken several research projects in collaboration with Interactive Research school of Health Affairs (IRSHA) a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth University.
